So much to do, so little time. It's an old phrase but as true today in the global online world as ever.
If its only two or three times a week one can sit down at the computer to surf, get emails, shop at amazon.com (I keep adding stuff to my wish list but never buy anything), and update your blogs and social interaction home sites, then the aforementioned phrase says it all.
However, if one wishes to keep their sanity and positive attitude it is better to look at what you have accomplished than to dwell on what you have left to do (advice from a old mentor of mine). The example he would give me was of the large pile of roofing tiles that had been removed from his house but could only be left at his curb for pick-up three trash barrels at a time. The first week the pile appeared no smaller of effected at all by the removal of the three cans and for the following few weeks the pile continued to look un-dented. Undaunted, my friend focused on the one most noticeable results of his efforts: always three full cans to be picked up each week. Then one day he failed to fill the last can...the pile was gone.
It has become my mantra that often its best to look at how far you have come instead of how far you have left to go. Another trick learned while playing volleyball and trying to come back from a large deficit: When the server asks how many points we need to get? The answer is: just one more. And then: one more, and then...
So how many more blog entries will I get in this month?
At least one more. jwm
